About Us
The Dexter Senior Center began serving the Greater Dexter Area in 1971. It continues to be a place where older adults can enjoy companionship, be entertained, become fit, and improve their overall health and sense of wellbeing. It is a place where members feel comfortable and valued.
The Center offers a variety of activities designed to improve the quality of life. These include exercise and complementary therapies, arts and crafts, musical groups, lifelong learning and the simple pleasure of cards and games with friends.
Volunteerism is active, inviting members to share their skills and help in activities.
The Center was the among the first in Washtenaw County to offer hot lunches and Meals on Wheels has continuously provided meals to our homebound members five days a week.
Membership is $20.00 a calendar year and offered to those 55 and older. Transportation is available through the W.A.V.E. which offers door-to-door service.
We envision a greater Dexter area where older adults are active and integral part of the community.
We believe in empowering socialization over isolation.
We believe in an active body and mind with a person-centered approach.
We believe in diginity, respect, and inclusion of all aging persons.
We offer memberships for those 55 and older at $20 annually. We offer memberships for those younger than 55 for $35 annually.

We offer exercise classes, enrichment, support groups, arts and culture, education, health and wellness, language, music, games, and so much more.
