Covid Response at Dexter Senior Center
COVID-19 cases are rising sharply statewide, countywide, and most notably, locally.
The hospitals and EMS systems within our region are operating at extremely high capacity. Local health officials are recording a record number of cases within our own 48130-zip code. As a result, the Dexter Senior Center Board of Trustees are issuing updated participation requirements for the Dexter Senior Center. The following order takes effect Monday, November 22, 2021 and will remain in effect until further notice:
- Mandatory double vaccination required.
- Boosters/Third Dose Vaccinations highly recommended.
- Masking is always required while in the Center.
- Temperature will be taken upon arrival to the Center each day.
- Frequent hand cleansing highly encouraged.
- No food or coffee will be consumed in the Center.
- Practice healthy behaviors as much as possible, such as social distancing.
- Please don’t come to the Center if you are feeling ill, i.e., fever, cough, muscle aches, headache, sore throat, congestion, or runny nose.
We want to remind you that boosters are now widely available from any Covid-19 vaccination site in Washtenaw County through the Vaccinate Washtenaw Program. This program is open to anyone and everyone; and that FREE, door to door accessible transportation is available. If you need help with getting a vaccination and/or booster please do not hesitate to contact Kim at the Center by calling 734-426-7737.
We believe that working together we can continue to provide a safe and comfortable environment for social gatherings and organized events at the Dexter Senior Center.
